Privacy Policy — Kingston Business Academy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kingston Business Academy ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Kingston Business Academy mobile app (the "App") and related services.

Summary: We collect the account and quiz-activity information needed to run the App — your name, email, academy, quiz scores, and certificates. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the App (Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete Account).

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos/media beyond an optional profile picture, or browsing history from other apps.

2. How We Use Information

To create and maintain your account and authenticate you when you sign in
To run quizzes, track your progress, and calculate scores, streaks, and leaderboard rank
To issue and let others verify certificates you've earned
To send push notifications (e.g. quiz results, reminders, announcements)
To respond to support requests

3. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run the App, acting on our behalf:

Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to your device

Certificates are designed to be publicly verifiable — anyone with a certificate ID can look up its holder name, course, grade, and issue date using the App's "Verify a Certificate" feature.

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App: Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete Account. When you do, we delete your account, profile, quiz submissions, notifications, and registered device tokens.

Certificate records are the one exception: because certificates must remain publicly verifiable even after an account is deleted, the certificate itself (including the holder name and course details as they existed at the time it was issued) is retained. It is no longer linked to your account or any other personal information after deletion.

5. Your Choices

Edit your profile — update your name, country, and nationality from Profile → Edit Profile
Leave the leaderboard — turn off "Appear on Leaderboard" in Privacy & Security settings
Delete your account — Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete Account
Contact us — reach out using the details below for any other request, including data access or correction

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for learners old enough to enroll in Kingston Business Academy's programs and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and secure credential storage — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
